Terms & Refund Policy

Last updated 26 July 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you book work with Velocitry, a one-person business run by Jacob Okunega in London, United Kingdom. They are written to be read, not to hide behind.

The short version: the scan is free and honest. If I fix something and it doesn't measurably improve, you get your money back. I will always tell you when something is free to do yourself. You back up your data before hardware work, and I will never change anything you haven't agreed to.

1. What I do

2. Prices

Current prices are shown on the website and confirmed in writing before any work starts. I will not begin chargeable work, or exceed an agreed price, without your say-so.

Founding-customer pricing: introductory rates apply to my first 20 paying customers. It is a limit on the number of customers, not a countdown — once 20 jobs are complete, standard prices apply to new bookings. Anyone already quoted keeps the price they were quoted.

Parts (drives, memory, batteries and so on) are charged at cost on top of labour, and I include the receipt. I do not mark parts up.

3. Remote and in-person work

Remote sessions use Windows Quick Assist, which is already part of Windows. You start the session, you watch everything I do, and you can end it at any moment. I do not use unattended access and I do not leave anything installed.

Some work cannot be done remotely — anything requiring a screwdriver, or a setting in your BIOS, which sits below Windows where no remote tool can reach. I will tell you which category your fix falls into before you pay, not after.

4. The money-back guarantee

If optimisation work does not produce a measurable improvement, you get a full refund. "Measurable" means shown by a before-and-after measurement — frame rate, boot time, temperature, or the specific errors from your report no longer occurring.

How to claim: email scans@velocitry.app within 14 days of the work. I will re-check the measurements. If the improvement isn't there, I refund the labour in full, to your original payment method, within 14 days of agreeing the refund.

What the guarantee does not cover:

This guarantee is offered in addition to your legal rights. It does not reduce them.

5. Your legal cancellation rights

Because you are buying a service at a distance, UK consumer law gives you 14 days to cancel for any reason. If you ask me to start within those 14 days and I finish the work, you lose the right to cancel — but the guarantee above still applies. If work has started but is not finished, you pay only for what has been done.

6. What I need from you

7. What I promise, and my limits

My liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid me for it, except where the law does not allow that limit — I cannot and do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. I am not liable for data loss where you were asked to back up and did not. Computers that are already failing can fail further during routine work; where I judge that risk to be real, I will say so in writing before starting.

8. Cancelling or rescheduling

Let me know as early as you can and there is no charge. If you cancel a booked in-person visit with less than 24 hours' notice more than once, I may ask for a deposit next time.

9. Complaints

Email scans@velocitry.app. I aim to reply within two working days and to resolve things without argument. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
